Seneye offers an unrivalled lineup of revolutionary water monitoring solutions for applications, including public aquariums, aquaculture facilities, wastewater, and combined sewerage outlets (CSOs).
By removing the need to test in person and delivering the data instantly to wherever you are, Seneye Internet of Things (IoT) sensors let you focus resources where they can benefit most, like animal welfare, environmental protection, and boosting productivity.
However, suppose you have circumstances where our standard product range doesn’t quite meet what you need, perhaps due to requiring a solution that can integrate with your existing infrastructure or needing to operate in a particularly challenging environment. In that case, Seneye OEM solutions come into their own.

Case Study: Sedna Technologies - Seneye OEM Water Monitoring Solution To Integrate With Clients Existing Technology
Sedna Technologies provide a comprehensive, state-of-the-art platform, the Sedna Ecosystem, to track, trace and monitor seafood products from sea to plate.
By utilising the power of data and technology, Sedna, based in Nova Scotia, Canada, lets the commercial fishing and aquaculture industries maximise their returns and future-proof supply chains by monitoring live and farmed products in real time.
Sedna approached Seneye over six years ago to create an OEM device that could integrate with their existing technology.
In today’s seafood industry, traceability has become essential for holding companies accountable for the health and welfare of the livestock they harvest from the seas.
The company wanted to integrate water quality monitoring to expand the comprehensive Sedna Ecosystem, with pH levels, ammonia toxicity, and temperature being key factors to consider.
Seneye’s expertise perfectly aligned with Sedna’s requirements and the collaboration to ensure the quality and sustainability of the seafood supply chain was born.
Seneyes Custom Solution for Sedna Technologies
The OEM project presented an exciting challenge for our development team, who embarked on creating a commercial “Sedna node” specifically tailored to the company’s requirements.
The monitoring nodes were encased in robust, waterproof hard housings to withstand the demanding environments of crab and lobster hatcheries. To address connectivity issues, Seneye designed the nodes to run on Power over Ethernet (PoE), eliminating potential challenges found in remote locations.
Regarding scalability, the Seneye Sedna system allows for adding numerous nodes to a single account, with SEDNA currently operating 264 nodes.
The final product allows Sedna Ecosystem clients to receive real-time readings of Ammonia NH3, Ammonium NH4, Temperature (water and air), and Dissolved Oxygen on an integrated web dashboard that allows for historical data analysis and downloadable reports.
This project exemplified the Seneye team’s ability to develop rapidly and roll out high-quality and efficient products. We fulfilled the first order of fully customised commercial nodes within a year of the initial meeting between the two companies.
The collaboration with Sedna beautifully demonstrates how Seneye goes beyond being a water sensor company by offering a comprehensive and custom OEM solution.
Sedna has been able to leverage our open API and successfully offer their clients water monitoring capabilities in previously inaccessible locations while maintaining the user-friendliness of the Sedna Ecosystem.
In Conclusion
